Industry veteran Bill Vasilieff died suddenly yesterday (19 November) aged 68, a statement confirms.

Vasilieff worked across multiple industries in his long career and is remembered as an innovator within the financial advice sector, having founded Novia Financial in 2008.

He stepped back as chief executive of the platform in 2021 but returned from retirement shortly after to become chair of the UK arm of Swedish wealth manager Söderberg & Partners.

"His impact and loss will be deeply felt in many spheres," the firm commented. "Whilst he was a  undoubtedly an industry legend, his true passion and drive was for his family, whom he always put first."

Vasilieff is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
