Evelyn Partners said today (2 February) that Edward Park will be joining the business in April as chief asset management officer.

As part of the senior leadership team, he will also become a member of the Group Executive Committee, reporting to Paul Geddes, group chief executive officer.

He joins Evelyn Partners from Brooks Macdonald where he has worked for 15 years, latterly as chief investment officer and a member of the executive committee.

In a statement earlier this week (31 January), Brooks Macdonald Group said Richard Larner, head of research, and Michael Toolan, senior portfolio director, had been promoted to co-chief investment officers, succeeding Edward Park, "whom they have been working closely alongside over recent years as part of the firm’s long-term succession planning".

At Evelyn Partners, Park will have overall accountability for the group’s centrally managed investment propositions, including its extensive range of pooled funds and suite of Managed Portfolio Service (MPS) strategies which cater for a wide range of risk and goal profiles.

As at 31 December 2023, Evelyn Partners managed £9.9 billion of assets in centrally managed propositions.

As part of the wider investment management leadership team, he will work closely with Chris Kenny, chief investment management director, who is responsible for Evelyn Partners’ investment management services.

He will play a leadership role in the group’s established investment process, including its formal committees, and the Investment Strategy team will report to him.

Park will also act as a key spokesperson for Evelyn Partners’ investment propositions, especially in the IFA market where the business has been growing its presence as a partner providing outsourced investment management solutions to financial intermediaries.

Paul Geddes, group chief executive of Evelyn Partners, said: “We are delighted to welcome Edward to Evelyn Partners. He will help drive the growth and development of our centrally managed investment propositions, alongside our presence as a leading investment manager for private clients and charities. And with his considerable experience and proven track record, he will also help the firm continue to develop its collegiate investment approach, which underpins the outcomes we deliver for our clients.

“All our investment management services, whether discretionary portfolios, MPS or funds, leverage a rigorous house approach to stock and fund research, the insights of our investment strategy team and a disciplined asset allocation framework. As a highly experienced and successful investor, we are excited about Edward joining the team to further enhance our investment proposition.”

Park added: “I am excited to be joining Evelyn Partners in April. The new role will give me the opportunity to help drive the centrally managed investment propositions, as well as engage with IFA partners. Evelyn Partners has a successful, collegiate investment approach which has delivered strong client outcomes. I am looking forward to helping develop the approach in partnership with the broader investment management team.”
