Baron Capital has launched a fund investing in small, mid and large cap American companies with the aim of doubling the value of investments within six years, expanding its range for non-US investors.

The Baron Capital US All Cap Focused Growth fund will be managed by Ron Baron, founder, chair and CEO of Baron Capital, and Michael Baron, vice president and portfolio manager.

They will deploy a bottom-up investment strategy to identify US companies of any size they believe will deliver above-average long-term risk-adjusted returns.

Each company considered for investment must meet four investment criteria: an outsized growth opportunity, competitive advantages, an exceptional and proven management team, and a valuation that offers the opportunity for an investment to double within five to six years.

The launch adds to the range of Baron Capital strategies available to non-US investors, alongside the Baron Global Advantage Equity fund and Baron Emerging Market Equity fund.

The Baron Capital US All Cap Focused Growth fund is the only publicly registered fund available to investors outside the US that is managed by the company's CEO, who has been a portfolio manager at the firm since 1992.

"Our long-term perspective permits us to think about a company as a business owner and not as a short-term tactical stock trader," Baron said.

Stephen Millar, vice president and head of EMEA at Baron Capital, added: "We are pleased to launch this new fund and provide non-US investors with exposure to our proven expertise in the US equity growth market.

"We believe this provides an attractive proposition for investors seeking to access the long-term opportunities available via exposure to quality growth companies."
