Janus Henderson’s Privacore VPC Asset-Backed Credit Fund has secured $100m (£75m) in seed capital from the General Electric Pension Trust.
The investment takes the fund’s total deployable seed capital to more than $350m, with other strategic investors including CNO Financial Group and Corbin Capital Partners.
The interval fund, launched by Janus Henderson and affiliates Victory Park Capital and Privacore Capital, provides private wealth investors with access to private asset-backed credit.
It is now available through the Charles Schwab, Fidelity Investments and BNY Pershing platforms, expanding its availability to advisers and wealth managers.
The fund invests primarily in private credit instruments backed by physical, financial or other cash-generating assets and aims to provide a high level of current income.
Ali Dibadj, chief executive of Janus Henderson, said: “As investors increasingly seek a broader, more diversified range of private credit opportunities than direct lending alone, specialised expertise becomes increasingly important."
