Lighthouse Canton, a global investment institution with wealth and asset management businesses, has announced the appointment of three senior financial industry executives to its senior leadership team.

The hires across its headquarters in Singapore and in London "mark a significant step in its global expansion strategy", Lighthouse Canton said in a statement on 14 August.

The three appointments are Amrit Singh, Henrik Aslaksen, and Balaji Prasanna who co-founded AWM Capital Partners.

They will join the firm in the next couple of months post any relevant regulatory approvals, bringing with them a wealth of experience from the world's leading financial institutions. Amrit and Balaji will be based in Singapore while Henrik shall be based in London. They will all join the Executive Committee of Lighthouse Canton and Amrit will also join the Board of Directors.

These strategic appointments underscore Lighthouse Canton’s commitment to expanding its global footprint and addressing the investment needs of ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWIs), families, and institutional clients.

Amrit, who joins as the global head of key clients and institutions, brings over 25 years of experience, most recently as managing director and head of wealth management for global South Asia at Deutsche Bank.

His proven track record in wealth management growth aligns perfectly with Lighthouse Canton’s ambitions to be a leading institution providing innovative investment solutions to ultra-high net worth individuals and institutions. Previously, Amrit held leadership positions in Deutsche Bank’s investment banking division as Head of M&A for India, Middle East and Africa, and head of M&A for telecoms in EMEA.

“I have witnessed the tremendous growth of Lighthouse Canton over the past few years, and I am thrilled to join Lighthouse Canton at this exciting juncture as they enter their next phase of growth,” Amrit stated. “The financial landscape is evolving rapidly, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive innovation and growth in growing our business with key clients and institutional partners.”

Balaji Prasanna, a seasoned industry veteran with over 35 years reshaping private banking and lending at global financial organizations like Deutsche Bank, where he most recently served as vice vhairman, joins Lighthouse Canton as executive vice chairman - Key Client Solutions. Balaji’s tremendous expertise in structured lending and wealth planning is set to enhance Lighthouse Canton's capabilities in offering more comprehensive global wealth solutions for its clients.

“Lighthouse Canton has emerged as a clear regional leader in the Independent AWM space in Asia and aspires to grow globally, while increasing its footprint in certain key domestic markets. Together with the dynamic team at Lighthouse Canton, we will work to set new benchmarks in personalised wealth management and institutional services,” said Balaji.

Henrik, who will be appointed as President, Lighthouse Canton International, brings more than 30 years of M&A and Investment Banking expertise to strengthen Lighthouse Canton’s global investment banking capabilities.

His distinguished career includes roles as Executive Chairman of Investment Banking and Capital Markets EMEA at Credit Suisse and Global Head of M&A and Global Co-Head of Investment Banking Coverage and Advisory at Deutsche Bank. Henrik’s extensive global investment banking experience will be crucial in expanding Lighthouse Canton’s capabilities and reach with family owned enterprises and owners.

This strategic move is expected to not only drive growth at Lighthouse Canton but also lead to the hiring of top talent across various geographies, further strengthening the company’s management team. The team is targeting to bring in 25-30 seasoned professionals across Lighthouse Canton’s wealth management, asset management and investment banking businesses.

Shilpi Chowdhary, group CEO at Lighthouse Canton said: “We are thrilled to welcome Henrik, Balaji and Amrit to our leadership team.

“These appointments represent a significant step in our journey and bolster our global wealth and investment banking capabilities with strong client relationships across families and institutions.”

The trio have been associated for many years as colleagues and had co-founded AWM Capital Partners after their stints at Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.
