Franklin Templeton has appointed Cyril Berchtold as head of institutional sales Switzerland, effective from 1 January 2024, reporting to Christian Leger, head of distribution Switzerland.
Berchtold is based in Zurich and will represent the firm’s full range of asset management capabilities. In his new position, he will work in partnership with institutional clients to drive mutual success.

Capitalising on our extensive range of capabilities, including alternatives, we are well positioned to grow our footprint with large institutional clients. Cyrill has a robust track record of leading the development of the institutional channel in line with the evolving needs of clients in that space.”
Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Berchtold was head of institutional sales for Switzerland at Natixis Investment Managers. Between 2013 and 2021 he worked as a senior institutional salesperson at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Before that he worked in relationship manager roles at Harcourt Investment Consulting and Man Investments.
He started his career at UBS Investment Bank in 2002. Berchtold, who is a native Zurich citizen, holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich.
