Waystone, a provider of specialist services to the global asset management industry, has appointed Alaina Danley (pictured) as Cayman country head.
Her appointment follows the implementation of Waystone’s enhanced governance structure and consistent cross-location operating model, enabling the business to deliver a single global solution.
With over two decades of investment management experience spanning North America and the Cayman Islands, Alaina brings a wealth of experience in fund-related transaction matters and institutional investor expectations in core governance areas.
Her track record in delivering a highly client-centric approach to management, exceptional revenue growth and developing diverse international relationships will support Waystone through the next phase of its growth journey.
An experienced board member and governance adviser, Alaina’s tenure at Waystone exceeds 12 years during which she has held roles within Waystone Cayman as a managing director, head of fund governance and chief revenue officer. Prior to Waystone, she worked at Bain Capital, a global investment firm, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Boston, USA.
She serves on the executive committee of AIMA Cayman and is a member of both the Cayman Islands Directors Association and 100 Women in Finance. In 2021, she was featured in 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds by Hedge Fund Journal. She is a registered director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and a certified public accountant.
“With Alaina’s track record in achieving trusted client and industry relationships, along with strong financial results, she is well placed to lead our exceptional Cayman team in the next phase of Waystone’s growth journey,” said Nick Wheeler, Waystone’s chief operations officer.
Danley added: “I am delighted to lead the Cayman team and embrace the growth opportunities we have ahead of us. It is my privilege to service our trusted client relationships with the support of a highly specialised team, and I am confident in our ability to guide our clients through this complex environment with our talent, our extensive global reach, and a comprehensive product suite.”
