Members of the UAE Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG) including the Central Bank of the UAE, the Securities and Commodities Authority, the Dubai Financial Services Authority of the Dubai International Financial Centre, and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market have launched a consultation on proposed Principles for Sustainability-Related Disclosures for Reporting Entities.
In the launch statement today (26 September) the UAE regulators said the consultation set out four principles that the signatories will treat as minimum guidance for their respective disclosure frameworks in relation to sustainability-related matters.
The objective of the Disclosure Principles is to promote transparency in sustainability-related matters to allow investors and other stakeholders to make more informed decisions and evaluate investment risks and opportunities of entities and products.
In drawing up the Disclosure Principles, the Regulators have considered both international standards and industry best practices.
"We welcome stakeholder comments on the Disclosure Principles, which the SFWG aims to issue in November 2023, subject to the outcome of the public consultation", the regulators said.
