Rebecca Sowerby has become chief compliance officer at International Financial Group Limited (IFGL) following the retirement of Cathy Dawson at the end of last year.
Sowerby, who has almost 30 years' experience in financial services, has worked for IFGL since March 2020.
She said: ‘I am extremely grateful to IFGL for this fantastic opportunity. The Group continues to go from strength to strength and I'm very much looking forward to leading the Compliance team, who will play a key role through a period of exciting growth and change.'
"Cathy has created a wonderful legacy at IFGL and I wish her a long, happy and well-earned retirement," added Sowerby, who moves into the role from her previous position of risk and regulatory compliance officer.
IFGL's Group chief risk officer Sue-Ann Ind said: "I am delighted that we have been able to replace Cathy with Rebecca, a very talented individual from within our own team, showing how IFGL supports succession planning and invests in the growth and development of our people. Rebecca will bring new perspectives and a depth of experience to the role, and will also be a valued member of the IFGL Executive team."
IFGL recently won International Life Group of the Year (non-UK) for the second year in a row at the Global Financial Services Awards.
The Group employs around 500 staff at International House, its headquarters in Douglas, and at Royal Court in Castletown, with a further 50 across its international offices. The Group administers $26bn of assets under administration (all figures as at 31 December 2021).
