Carlyle, the Nasdaq listed investment firm, has launched a new evergreen private equity strategy, Carlyle AlpInvest Private Markets SICAV, offering investors worldwide, except those in the US, access to a global portfolio of private markets investments.
CAPM SICAV aims to provide access to global private equity buyout markets by allocating primarily across AlpInvest’s secondary and co-investment fund opportunities, as well as offering exposure to primary fund investments.
Ruulke Bagijn, head of Global Investment Solutions, said: "CAPM SICAV is exciting as it allows us to further build out our global private equity capability to individuals in new geographies. We have constructed and managed similar portfolios for some of the largest private equity investors for over 20 years, committing over $95 billion since 2000."
Shane Clifford, head of Global Wealth, said: "The launch of CAPM SICAV is a significant step for Carlyle’s global wealth offering, providing individual investors with diversified exposure into private equity investments by leveraging the scale and breadth of AlpInvest’s platform and extensive GP network. It is a compelling opportunity for individual investors to benefit from our expertise in private markets."
The launch builds on the recent launch of Carlyle AlpInvest Private Markets Fund, a US-registered fund available to US investors.
Carlyle is active in three business segments, including global private equity, global credit and global investment solutions. Assets under management as of end March 2024 were $425bn.
