Brooks Macdonald has hired ex-Invcstec global head of high net worth Alex Charalambous to the newly created role of head of wealth.
In a statement today (21 March) Brooks Macdonald highlighted the hire reflected its increasing focus on servicing the distinct needs of its clients by realigning its distribution and client-facing activities around its core propositions of outsourced investment management to IFAs and integrated wealth management for private clients.
Charalambous will lead the firm’s advice-led integrated wealth management offering for private clients, ensuring we deliver exceptional service to support the Group’s ambitious growth strategy.
He has over 20 years of experience in advising high-net-worth individuals and families. He most recently served as co-head of private clients and global head of high net worth at Investec. Before this, he was managing director at Julius Bear Wealth Management, having previously spent his early career at JP Morgan.
He will report to chief commercial officer, Robin Eggar, and he will be based in London. He will commence his role on 8 April 2024.
Eggar said: "I am pleased to welcome Alex to Brooks Macdonald as Head of Wealth. His extensive experience and deep relationship network will bring a sharper commercial focus as we continue to grow our wealth business, centred on helping our clients meet their financial goals."
Charalambous said: “Brooks Macdonald is incredibly well-positioned to capture future growth opportunities in what is an exciting sector. I’m looking forward to joining the team to help take the firm’s already exceptional offering for private clients to the next level.”
