The Association of International Life Offices (AILO) marked its recently celebrated 35th anniversary since inauguration in 1987 with a new initiative aimed at the industry's next generation.

To recognise this important milestone, AILO's Management Committee decided to sponsor students from its major jurisdictions - Ireland, Isle of Man, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg. These locations were selected to reflect the areas where AILO has members.

The Student Award initiative supports AILO's mission to encourage and support the next generation of financial professionals in the industry. Since its inception, AILO has built on its founding aims and has three areas of focus, or ‘pillars', which it uses to address today's challenges - one being ‘education'.

The scheme aligns with the education pillar by offering exceptional students the opportunity to receive a financial donation from AILO to help them fund their education and/or career ambitions.

To select the award winners, AILO have partnered with universities in each jurisdiction to identify top-performing candidates. The four award winners will be chosen not only based on their grades, but also on their natural talent and enthusiasm for the insurance industry.

Over the next few months, AILO will announce the winner of the award to one student in each of the four jurisdictions where they have members. Each award winner will receive a donation of £500.00 from AILO, plus a trophy to mark their achievement. An official award ceremony will take place in each location with a local AILO Member Representative presenting the prize on behalf of the organisation.

AILO CEO Bob Pain, said: "Much has changed since AILO was established in 1987, but promoting education about the insurance industry has been a constant thread throughout our history.
Bearing in mind the increasing challenges young people face to fund their education, we wanted to celebrate this significant milestone by providing practical help to outstanding students.

This initiative highlights our commitment to encouraging the next generation of talented people to join our industry."
The winners will be announced on AILO's social media channels in due course.
