Nedgroup Investments has named Tom Caddick as managing director of the international business representing a key new appointment based in Europe.

Headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa and with offices in Johannesburg, London and the Isle of Man, Nedgroup Investments has AUM of just under $19bn (as of end of September), with gross inflows for the year-to-date totalling $890m.

Caddick will lead the business from 1 December 2022, taking over from Andrew Lodge, who retires in Q1 2023 after more than 25 years with the firm. Tom will continue to fulfil his current role as Head of Investments (International) in parallel.

He joined Nedgroup a little over one and a half years ago, having previously worked for over eight years at Santander Asset Management, latterly as chief investment officer, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Nic Andrew, global head of Nedgroup Investments, said: "I am thrilled to have Tom lead our International Business at this exciting time for the company. We have ambitious plans to develop and grow our business, continuing with our long term, client-centric mindset and approach, an approach that has delivered real momentum to our growth in recent years. A huge note of thanks to Andrew for all that he has done for the business and for his tireless drive and energy. He will be leaving the business in good hands, and I am looking forward to working with Tom and the team as we build this next chapter for the business."

Caddick said: "This really is an exciting time for the business. We have seen our strongest year of growth yet, establishing new clients from both institutional and wholesale markets and from varying jurisdictions, as well as continuing to support and work alongside our colleagues within the Private Wealth business. This has been backed up by strong investment performance across all asset classes, reinforcing our long-term investment partnership credentials. We have ambitious plans to take the business forward with a broader investment offering, growing high quality team and ever stronger investment partnerships, and I am honoured to be part of this new phase."
