Door, the leading global digital due diligence and risk management platform, has announced a new strategic partnership with Investec Wealth and Investment.

Investec Wealth and Investment said from 20 June, it will be using Door to digitise its information gathering for due diligence and product governance assessments on asset managers and their investment products.

The adoption of Door's technology will ensure the robust gathering of information, critical for managing risk and supporting research on important issues, such as investment risk, operational governance, sustainability and diversity, it said.

Door's platform allows Investec Wealth & Investment's Fund Research and Product Assurance teams to create custom due diligence questionnaires, to meet its proprietary research requirements, with real time updates provided by asset managers.

Rob Sanders, co-founder of Door, said: "We are delighted that Investec Wealth & Investment is joining its global peers to help create a global utility that benefits all participants and transform the archaic due diligence process."

Andrew Summers, head of alternative investments and member of the Investment & Research Office Leadership Team at Investec Wealth & Investment, said: "We're partnering with Door to digitise and enhance the rigour of our research and product assurance processes to ensure our own customers continue to have the highest protections. Door's solution also benefits our trusted asset manager partners and helps them scale their own resources.

"It's a win-win and we see many of our peers, and the industry in general, moving in this direction with Door. Finding more efficient ways of gathering information also allows us to meet forthcoming requirements of the Consumer Duty Act."

Investec joins local peers such as Hargreaves Lansdown, 7IM, Cazenove and LGIM, who also publicly deploy Door's technology.

Investec manages over £44.4bn (as at March 2022) of client money.

Door works with over 400 asset managers and manager research teams in 39 countries, as the digital interface used by professional investors and investment platforms to access up-to-date information for fund research and operational due diligence. It streamlines the information exchange, saving asset managers' time, improving client experience and reducing investment risk.
